The Project

DJOM is a luxury candle and home fragrance brand created to transform daily rituals into refined sensory experiences. Founded by an Angolan entrepreneur with a clear vision for premium lifestyle positioning, the brand required more than visual execution. It demanded a strategic foundation that would define its voice, elevate its perception, and position it competitively within the luxury market. Our role was to develop a complete brand identity and packaging design system capable of translating that ambition into a tangible and desirable product.

From the beginning, DJOM was positioned as a high-end lifestyle brand rather than a decorative candle line. The strategy focused on emotional resonance, cultural depth, and sophistication. In the luxury home fragrance sector, visual identity alone is not enough. The brand needed cohesion, narrative clarity, and a strong premium presence across every touchpoint. The project included full brand development, from visual identity creation to packaging design, messaging, and digital direction. We developed a cohesive identity system built around elegance, timelessness, and restraint. Typography, color direction, and material choices were selected to communicate refinement while maintaining strong shelf visibility.

The packaging design became the central expression of the brand. It was conceived as an extension of the sensory experience rather than a simple container. Structure, finish, and proportion were carefully considered to increase perceived value and support retail impact. The result is a luxury packaging system that enhances both the unboxing moment and the in-store presence.

This strategic approach ensured consistency across Portugal and Angola, allowing DJOM to establish itself as a distinctive player in the premium candle and home fragrance market. The strength of this integrated design strategy was recognized globally when DJOM received a Gold Award at the International Design Awards in the Packaging Design category. This recognition reflects the effectiveness of combining brand strategy with refined execution. The award highlights the power of thoughtful design to elevate a product beyond functionality and into experience. International recognition strengthens DJOM’s positioning and reinforces the importance of strategic brand development in competitive luxury markets.
